COUNTRY CASTLE WEDDING VENUE IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI

Twenty minutes west of Springfield Missouri, thirty seconds off the highway, I turned onto the corner of The Edge Of Nowhere and Nowhere. Miles and miles, acre after acre of beautiful, time forgotten country!
I took these pictures on the way to the castle. Lazy and peaceful, calm and clean. These llamas were thrilled to death to have a visitor! I saw many more deer than people. The people in the three cars I passed greeted me like a long lost old friend.

Turning through a beautiful gate I entered a long, winding gravel driveway. At the end was a surprise for sure!
There was a very small bridal show going on. There were brides and photographers everywhere. Only one vendor was represented for a bakery, caterer, photographer and florist. I enjoyed the time there so much.

A perfect place for Do It Yourself brides and all other party throwers!

Somehow the details of the castle are whimsical and classy at the same time. Happy happy, feel good vibes.

There are several well appointed ante rooms and bedroom/sitting areas with small kitchens. Fit for a king and queen!
There are nothing but fields and forests for as far as I could see. There was a hot air balloon in the back, ready for a romantic trip around The Middle of Nowhere. Peaceful and quiet except for the occasional blast of hot air.

Of course on the way back to Wherever, I had to stop in and visit the folks at the country store on the aforementioned corner! Boy, am I ever glad I did! I met some hysterically interesting people! And discovered a fantastic nature photographer. Matt Miles has a photo blind set up within walking distance of this little store.

DIY BRIDES! THINK RICH, DARK, TEXTURED BOUQUETS FOR FALL!

If you want wedding flowers that reflect the fall, your options are gorgeous and stylish!

The hottest trend in fall  wedding flowers is lush, richly hued arrangements with lots of interesting texture. Start with a base of classic flowers and mix in feathery lamb's ear leaves to make the arrangements more remarkable. Velvety coxcomb (below) add wonderful texture. Or you could add non-floral accents such as viburnum or hypericum berries, lotus pods or fiddlehead ferns. Use that Do It Yourself Imagination! The combinations are endless!!
Although texture is key, classic flowers still rule for fall weddings. Use autumn hues or go with more unexpected colors like aubergine, copper, and forest green. Lush, elegant dahlias may be the quintessential fall blossom since they come in all the autumnal tones.
Of course, roses will always be popular and are available in any shade you can imagine!

DIY Headpieces Using Fresh Flowers

We are excited about the fact that the contemporary bride is returning to the natural look. The simple & fresh style is the trendiest right now in weddings & bridal looks. However, this trend seems to be in a tight competition with the glamorous style. Both the simple and sophisticated styles are in for this year’s weddings and this is why making the final choice is so difficult. But we are convinced that you Do It Yourself Brides, with all your DIY creativity will find the right fit for your personality.
You as a DIY Bride have more freedom to choose whatever items and colors you like. Choose something unique to your personality. You can narrow down your choices by considering the wedding theme, formality, season, location and style. If you want to spend your day in a more relaxing way, go for the casual outdoors style.

This way you will be able to follow the natural look that goes with your hairstyle as well as your personality and the feel you are going for at your wedding.  This is the newest entry in terms of bridal headpieces and hairdos. We are big fans of this type of decoration and we recommend it to all modern brides who feel like being themselves on their wedding day. We advise modern brides to stay close to their natural look and choose something soft for their makeup and something wild and messy for their hair. These qualities are ideal for the boho-chic style.

Wearing a flower wreath at the ceremony is definitely the best way to integrate yourself within the natural beauty of your outdoor space. Feel free to create a wreath of live blooms in your favorite colors. Create an herbal wreath accented with seasonal blooms.

Do It Yourself Brides! Get Wedding and Gift Jewelry Free!

Silpada is a wonderful company! The earrings above cost $59.
My niece, Julie, has been making a very nice supplemental income selling this beautiful jewelry. She has one party a week and $500 is her average take home pay! The really cool thing about Silpada parties is that the hostess earns free jewelry! The average amount of free jewelry for a hostess is $300.

These earrings cost $22! They would be a beautiful bride's maid's gift. There are nearly 30 pairs of earrings offered for between $17 and $30!

This initial charm is another very affordable gift.
Several of my friends have had Silpada Showers. Giving their earnings of free jewelry to the bride as a gift!
                                                          Spectacular idea! Win-win!

1 clear glass vase or pitcher
1-2 12-oz. bags Ocean Spray® Fresh Cranberries (depending on size of vase)
1 bouquet of fresh flowers (here we used white Ranunculus)
Water

Directions:

Start with an empty vase or pitcher. Add 1 or 2 bags of Ocean Spray® Fresh Cranberries (depending on the size of the vase) and enough water to fill vase 3/4 full. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the ends off the fresh flowers at a 45-degree angle. Add cut flowers to vase, arranging as needed.

Replace water daily or as needed, and discard berries when they become soft, which can range from a few days to about a week.

I have to regretfully admit I don't know where I got this picture. But whoever put this scene together has captured my imagination! I live in the Ozarks, far from a beach. I have a rustic table and chairs in my dining room. I am hoping to take them to a dry creek bed, an open field with large hay rounds scattered about, a river bank or with a lake in the background and take my own picture! Maybe all these places and more and I would call the series The Traveling Table. I'd love to throw a dinner party at each location! Complete with music and flowers! I can imagine a beautiful wedding with Nature's addition of white stone bluffs, waving wheat, a small waterfall, rapids or simply tiny waves lapping a lake's shore. What a peaceful backdrop to a most important occasion!

For anyone planning a wedding, with a budget, I suggest an affordable, preferably free! venue. Inventory your friends',  family and families' friends' backyards of their homes or vacation homes. The dry river bed I referred to earlier is in Buseik State Park just minutes from our home. It is very easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. Just a very short walk through an enchanted forest to a beautiful flat river bed.
Easy for young and old to navigate. I can almost guarantee no one has thought of this for a backdrop for a wedding!

Now for flowers for the economic minded! There are tons of DIY videos on utube that can show you how to put your own wedding flower bouquets together. I would like to encourage anyone on this adventure to check them out and then visit our website for the freshest, most affordable, wholesale bulk flowers on the market. We have access to any flower you can imagine! We love our brides and are dedicated to making them happy! We would love to meet you and hear your unique wedding plans! Whether traditional or a bit "out there", each wedding is unique and we love them all!

A wedding brings A New Fragrance to Flowers!

"This 4th of February will be the mightiest day in the history of our lives, the holiest, & the most generous toward us both -- for it makes of two fractional lives a whole; it gives to two purposeless lives a work, & doubles the strength of each whereby to perform it; it gives to two questioning natures a reason for living, & something to live for; it will give a new gladness to the sunshine, a new fragrance to the flowers, a new beauty to the earth, a new mystery to life; & Livy it will give a new revelation to love, a new depth to sorrow, a new impulse to worship. In that day the scales will fall from our eyes & we shall look upon a new world. Speed it!"
- letter to Olivia Langdon, 8 September 1869 From Samuel Clemens.
Imagine "Livy" planning her wedding to Mark Twain!

"A new fragrance to flowers"! Beautiful expression, I think. Surely it is so! Congratulations to all you who have decided to find a life purpose together!

I know that if odour were visible, as colour is,
I'd see the summer garden in rainbow clouds.
